Ride Day Details

Race Date: Wednesday, 7/23/2025
Distance: 90 miles for long course, but you can ride any distance as it's a simple out/back ride. Some riders are only going to the top of Boreas Pass, some to Como, not sure how many are going all the way to Hartsel.
Registration: opens at 6:30 AM or when Jim get there....  
Start time: 7 AM

T-shirts
For the first 20 riders who confirm prior to July 1st....

Cue Sheets
Nope, it's a simple out and back.   But we will provide a map and GPS file.  

We encourage the use of gps devices!   
If you don't have a Garmin or Wahoo device, Everytrail, Ridewithgps, and a dozen others have smartphone apps that you can use that are either free or only a couple dollars.

Waiver
Yes, you will have to sign a waiver at the start.   


Be Patient
Bring some patience and a good attitude.  This is a free ride funded by Jim.  Any volunteers are our friends.

Registration
Registration opens at 6:30 AM.   
You will need to sign a waiver, we will have name tags for your helmet.   
We will have cold brew and donut holes at the start.

Water
Don't plan on there being any water at the start...   But we will have water at the top of Boreas Pass and in Como.

Water stops, check points....
We will have water and light snacks at the top of Boreas Pass and in Como.  Keep in mind that at these altitudes you will need plenty of water.  We are recommending that riders carry 80 oz or more for the longer ride..  

Support - some, but be prepared...
This is officially an unsupported ride.   That being said, we will do what we can to help you enjoy your ride.     You will need to able to carry adequate water and nourishment for the ride.   You will need to bring tools, spare tubes

Finish
This years ride will not be timed, but it finisher names will be recorded...  

Lemming survival party
Tradition states that any surviving Lemmings from the long ride gather for food and/or beverages at an agreed upon time and place by participants....  

Alcohol Policy: No alcohol is provided by the event organizers. Participants are prohibited from bringing or consuming alcohol during the ride. Any post-ride social gatherings are independent of the ride and take place at licensed establishments. Participation in such gatherings is voluntary and at your own risk.

Rules - just a few - we are serious about all of these!
  • You must sign a waiver.
  • Don't be a jerk
  • You must check in at the check point.
  • Be nice
  • You must wear a helmet.
  • Be kind
  • You must wear your name on your helmet.
  • Hug a volunteer
  • With the exception of your fellow grinders (or a friendly local), you are on your own. This is a self supported event. 
  • Smile a lot
  • No public urination allowed. Please find a remote woods or ditch in an uninhabited area. 
  • High five a volunteer
  • Obey all traffic laws. This is an open course so show respect. 
  • Wave to any locals or tourists you may encounter.   
  • No littering! Pack out what you bring. 
  • Encourage your fellow riders
  • If you leave the course, you must re-enter at the same spot you left.
  • Relax and enjoy the course
  • If you need to drop, let Jim know via text.
