7 Days til the ride

7 Days until we ride!

See ride details page for more information.

https://lemming-gg.blogspot.com/p/ride-day-details.html

Looks like we will have around 10 riders, so spots for a few more people.  T-Shirts are arriving today.  I did order a few extras, first come first serve for any one else that wants to ride.

Ebikes, Gravel Bikes, Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes with wide tires, all welcome.

Distance is your choice, simple out and back to Hartsel.   Sounds like many are opting for a turn around in Como.  Not sure how many are opting for Hartsel, game day decision based on weather and how motivated everyone is feeling...

Paul and Kate have volunteered to bring some water and snacks over the pass to Como.

Bring a non-perishable food shelf donation if you can.

2025 Dirty Lemming - Moving West....

Be part of the longest running free gravel ride in the world...

According to ChatGPT....   "Based on what we know, The Dirty Lemming (est. 2011) appears to be the longest-running free-entry gravel race still in existence. While events like the Almanzo 100 (2007) were free for many years, they either changed organizers, introduced entry fees, or stopped running. Since the Dirty Lemming has remained free and continuous since its start, it holds the title for the longest-running free gravel race."

Unfortunately, due to some schedule conflicts, Deb and Garry are unable to host the 2025 Dirty Lemming on their farm in Brownton, MN.

I am working on organizing a Dirty Lemming Western Edition Ride in Summit County Colorado on Wednesday July 23rd.  Yes, that is not a weekend date, but the traffic on Boreas Pass is a bit crazy in July on weekends.   Will involve climbing up and over the gravelly Boreas Pass roads.

This will be a casual but hard ride, not a race.   With a re-group for lunch in Hartsel for the long distance riders.

Long course is Hartsel and back - ~90 miles - ~6000 feet of climbing.   But riders can feel free to ride any distance that suits them.   In the spirit of true gravel grinding, no judging allowed.

Registration involves sending me an email and bringing a non-perishable item or two to the start for the FIRC food shelf.

We are limiting the ride to 15 vehicles (to encourage car pooling) and/or 20 riders.  The first 20 riders who confirm before July 1st will get a custom Lemming T-Shirt.

Stay tuned for more details.  If you have questions or are interested in riding with us drop me a note:  Jim@dirtylemming.com

Dirty Lemming 2023 - We're Back!!!

Greetings Fellow Lemmings,

The Dirty Lemming gravel ride is back for 2023.

Deb Lind and her husband Gary will be hosting the event with a start/finish at their farm near Brownton, MN.    Coincidently their farm was on the 100 mile route and for a couple of years they put out a cooler with waters and occasionally a bottle of something a bit stronger.

Deb and Gary have a really cool barn that is set up for cycling parties with a biker bar and small stage.

Given the additional distance to the start Deb and Gary will also be setting up for camping at their farm for those coming from out of town. Water and Porta-Potty will be available for the ride and camping.

Please coordinate camping details in advance with Deb via email.  cuz4bianchi@gmail.com

If you have musical talent, either voice or some type of instrument, BRING IT.   A post ride barn jam session would be fun.

No Dirty Lemming in 2022

Hi,

Sorry for the misdirection, but we will not be having a dirty lemming ride in 2022.   With our move to Colorado and some aging parent issues putting on even a simple bike ride seems like too much to handle this summer.

Not sure if we'll be reviving it again in 2023 and if we do whether it will be in MN or CO where we are now living.   Watch this space for more info.

If you have any questions let me know.
